PROGRESSING CAVITY PUMPS
NOVAROTORS
Why Choose a PC Pump with a Hopper or Auger Feed?
For products that won’t flow on their own, a progressive cavity (PC) pump with a hopper and auger feed screw is often the most reliable way to keep production moving. In these designs from Nova Rotors®, the auger actively conveys material from the hopper directly into the pumping element, helping the pump handle high-viscosity media and very high solids content that would otherwise bridge, stall, or block a standard inlet.

OPEN HOPPER PC PUMPS
The Nova Rotors hopper/auger configuration is built for pumping viscous, non-flowing products—especially those with high solids content.
Bridge-Resistant Hopper Designs
The DHB and JHB series are hopper-equipped models designed to combat bridging and blocking. They include:
- A double-shaft/bridge breaker arrangement to disrupt bridging in the hopper
- An extended auger feed screw to continuously deliver material into the hydraulics
- Customizable hopper/auger length, based on your application requirements
These units are suitable for poorly flowing, high-viscosity products with up to 35% dry substance, including materials that tend to bridge or form plugs.
Added Protection Where It Matters
The auger feed screw includes a special joint-protection device, helping protect the coupling/joint area in demanding, high-torque applications.
DH Series – Standard model equipped with hopper and auger feed screw to move the product to the hydraulic prat. Suitable for pumping materials with a low degree of flowability and prone to bridging.
DHS Series – Model featuring a rectangular hopper, with joint protection sleeve and enlarged auger feed screw to move the product to the hydraulic part. Suitable for pumping high viscosity materials with low flowability and up to 28% solids content not prone to bridging.
DHB Series – Model featuring a hopper with double bridge breaker shaft, joint protective sleeve and enlarged auger feed screw to move the product to the hydraulic part. Suitable for pumping highly viscous, non-flowing materials with up to 35% solids content prone to bridging or in blocks.
DHSB Series – This model features a rectangular hopper, joint protective sleeve and an enlarged auger feed screw to move the product to the hydraulic part. A “B” module is installed on the hopper which feeds the screw by means of a wheel device to prevent bridging. Suitable for pumping non-flowing materials with up to 40% solids content prone to bridging and plasticizing.
WOBBLE PUMPS
NovaRotor’s range of wobble pumps is the ideal solution for those seeking a highly compact and versatile product.
They are particularly easy and economical to maintain, due to the very small number of component parts. They can be used in a variety of industrial applications due to their ability to pump products which are viscous, which have solids in the fluid or which are mildly abrasive.
Perfect for those seeking a highly efficient, economical product, these offer an unparalleled cost/benefit advantage. Even at high RPMs, they pump without pulsating and there is virtually no centrifugal effect. They are also suitable for use within the food industry, as there are no dead zones within the pump.
The R series range of pumps all have solidly constructed housings in cast iron, bronze and stainless steel (AISI Type 304 and AISI Type 316), manufactured using lost wax casting technology. Threaded GAS BSP connections are available as standard, but can also come with DIN 11851 type adaptors upon request.
SANITARY PC PUMPS WITH HOPPERS + AUGER FEED
NovaRotor’s DHX Hygienic pump series features an integrated hopper and auger feed screw that conveys product directly into the hydraulic section. It’s an ideal solution for high-viscosity, non-flowing products—including media with very high solids content. The DHX series is suitable for products with up to 18% dry substance and is designed to help prevent bridging in the hopper.
Sanitary Design for Maximum Cleanability
Built for hygienic applications, the DHX series features a fully sanitary design in accordance with EHEDG and 3-A guidelines. These pumps are well-suited for CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilize-in-Place) processes. Pump geometry is engineered to fully drain and minimize dead zones, supporting repeatable sanitation. All components are manufactured with high surface finish standards and strict cleanliness controls.
Materials of Construction
All product-wetted parts are sanitary stainless steel. The block and base plate (when requested) are also supplied in stainless steel, standard in AISI 304.
Connection Options
Available sanitary fittings include DIN 11851, DIN 11864, Clamp ISO 2852, Clamp ASME-3A, Clamp DIN 32676, RJT, SMS 1145, Garolla and Macon (wine industry).
